cannot gain the lost space after driver update

hi,

I updated my NVIDIA display driver. I would loose 1GB of HD space but will gain it back after deleting temporary files via storage under settings. Now, it will not. It happens with the Intel display driver too. Does not happen in previous versions of Windows. Is anyone facing the issue, or just me?

Sorry I didn't know you are talking about the Storage Sense.

I thought you are talking about "Temporary files" like the picture below.

Anyway, I will suggest that you try to delete/remove temporary files and see if you will gain back storage space. Just click the "Temporary files" and choose which temporary files you want to remove.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted.

    Hi PaulPChou,

I'm Paul, an Independent Advisor and a Windows 10 expert. I hope I can help you with your concern.

Did you remove the "Windows Update Cleanup"?

You can also try to use the Disk Cleanup app.

Type Disk Cleanup in the search bar >> then open the app >> click "Cleanup System Files" >> check the Windows Update Cleanup >> click OK.
