In This PC>Documents I find 2 unknown files listed.  Both state: modified: 5/26/2020  and  type: File Folder

titles are:  'Hp Reg Backup'  and  'Wureset windows'.  What are these 2 files and should they remain on my PC?

Hi and thanks for reaching out. My name is William. I'm a Microsoft Windows Certified Professional and Systems Administrator. I'll be happy to help you out today.

These were likely created by a system/program utility. Wureset likely came from https://wureset.com/, which hosts a popular tool used for resolving software updates issues. I would not worry about this, I have used myself in various troubleshooting scenarios. As for the other file, I assume this is an HP computer and HP Reg Backup would be a snapshot of the local Windows registry for HKEY_CURRENT_USER and/or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Also nothing to worry about.

First thing that comes to mind is scale & layout settings. That and the other related display settings can be found by right-clicking the desktop > selecting Display settings. Additionally, some monitors also support different scaling options from the menu settings on the monitor itself. In my case, this is known as PIP settings,

Thanks William,  I have tried all the Display settings you mention several times to no avail.  The monitor settings have not been changed since purchase of this PC a few years ago.  The problem is not to be found in any setting or fix method I can find.  It certainly is a nuisance to forever be downsizing the screen display just to be able to read it.  Especially in emails.  Now, while typing a reply to either you or another techie the Outlook screen turned so haywire that the top and bottom of the text area became so squeezed together that only one line of space remained to type in.  Somehow that reply got away before completed.

I am thoroughly disgusted each monthly Windows automatic updates I'm ready to toss this blooding thing out the window.

No...perhaps I'll still keep trying to get it back to a date in which I feel it was actually working properly...if it ever did.  But THANKS

for doing you best to help me.

Thank you William, You have set my mind at rest on this question.  Now perhaps you could tell me how to fix an oversized screen display since the last windows update. No display, font, text settings have been changed for years yet I now must constantly make the display smaller by using the minus key on the keyboard.  This often occurs after a windows update but I can't recall how it was fixed so I can read the entire page onscreen simply by opening any site.
