    Hello LYNERHEINZ,

I'm Jin, a fellow Windows 10 user and an independent advisor.

I can see that the updates wont proceed in downloading.

Here's a list of possible troubleshooting steps to help you fix the problem:

    **Run the Windows Update troubleshooter.
You can refer to the link below on how to use the Windows Update troubleshooter:
    https://support.microsoft.com/help/4027322

    **Run Disk Clean up
Use Disk Clean up to remove delete temporary files that might be causing the update.
    https://support.microsoft.com/help/4026616

    **Download via Microsoft Update Catalog:
Manually download the update from Microsoft Update Catalog:
    https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/
Select the exact update to download and install.

    **Run SFC & DISM
Windows also has a built-in System File Check (SFC), kindly run SFC & DISM to fix any corrupted Windows System Files:
    https://support.microsoft.com/help/4026529

**Clear Windows Update Cache & components:

    1. Run Command Prompt as Administrator and enter the commands below:

    Net Stop bits
    Net Stop wuauserv
    Net Stop appidsvc
    Net Stop cryptsvc
    Ren %systemroot%SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.bak
    Ren %systemroot%system32catroot2 catroot2.bak
    Net Start bits
    Net Start wuauserv
    Net Start appidsvc
    Net Start cryptsvc

    1. Restart your device and check if you'll be able to Update.

**Remove WUServer and WIStatusServer from registry.

    1. Press Windows key + R, type regedit then hit Enter.
    2. Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate
    3. Look for WUServer and WIStatusServer in the right pane.
    4. If it's there delete them.

    **Use the Update Assistant:
    https://support.microsoft.com/help/3159635

    **Advanced Startup
Use Advanced Startup as well to repair any Windows system files that might be causing for the update to fail.

    1. Open Settings
    2. Select Update & Security
    3. Click the Recovery tab.
    4. Look for Advanced Startup then hit Restart now.
    5. Once restarted, click Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Repair.
    6. Let it complete the process and see if Windows will be repaired.

**Repair Windows using an installation media:
As a last resort, use an installation media and use the Windows Repair feature to repair your copy of Windows.
    https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/win...

    1. Click the "Download tool now" button.
    2. Once downloaded run the MediaCreationTool2004.exe file.
    3. Accept the terms.
    4. Select Create an installation media, then hit Next.
    5. Proceed with the prompts.
Once the installation media is created, double click on the file then on the Windows Setup screen, click on Repair your computer.

    I hope this helps.

Hi and thanks, many points I have checked earlier. I am now out of office til Monday and the other repair options need physical presence at the PC.

Will call next week, after trying our.
