Windows 10 Update Error 0x800f080d

Good day,

I have for some time been getting the above error, and am unable to resolve it. This means that any update to core Windows 10 Home fails to install.

I have attempted the following, without success:

Running Windows Update Troubleshooter

Cleaning my Windows update cache folder

Trying to update with AntiVirus/Firewall/VPN disabled

Resetting windows update components

Running DISM and SFC tools

I understand that a full Windows re-install should sort this problem out, however I don't want to do this if I can avoid it, as re-installing everything is a PITA.

Thanks for your help,

Christian Knudsen

    Hi Paul,

So I tried the service re/starts with no success, but the Update Assistant seems to have solved the issue.

Thanks for your help, and much appreciated - this issue has been bugging me for some time.
