How do I enable proxy server settings?

Dear all,

I've been having a lot of trouble trying to setup proxies in the LAN settings but every time I add a new proxy that is up and working, my web browser would still give me this error message "unable to connect to the proxy server". I don't know if there's another program that is blocking me from using proxies or I think it might have to do with the firewall or security policy settings not letting me use proxies. Can someone help me with this problem?

Thanks

Hi and thanks for reaching out. My name is William. I'm a Microsoft Windows Certified Professional and Systems Administrator. I'll be happy to help you out today.

There two places to add proxy server, either one will do: Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections > LAN settings and Start > Settings > Network & Internet > Proxy. You can enter the proxy address in the the form of an IP address or URL. You will also need to specify a port. If you are not sure how to enter this, provide the information to see if it is being inputted correctly.
