My monitor is not being recognized by my laptop and does not work when I plug it in. The monitor does work when I plug it into another computer (Macbook), so I figure this is a software issue. I have done several updates etc.  but my thinkpad still does not recognized the monitor. help!

under display adapter I see "Intel(R) HD Graphics 520"

when I select detect button, nothing happens. when I select Duplicate or extend, nothing happens. Seems like its not recognizing the monitor.

    Hi Redtayls

Sorry to hear about the display issue you facing.

If I understand the situation correctly, your connecting the HDMI Cable from Laptop to the Monitor.

Can we please check some basic things.

    • Open the Device Manager (Win Logo + X)
    • Under Display Adapter what is the driver name you see.

Connect the Monitor to the Laptop.

    • Go to all Settings by pressing Win Logo + I (I as in India).
    • Select system option.
    • 1st option will be display.
    • you will get to see multiple display and a Detect Button Click on it.
    • Once the Cable is connected, on both ends pressing Win Logo + P

If you get too see the options, use Duplicate.

Let us know if you able to see anything on the Monitor.
