I would suggest you refer to the below steps and check if it helps to resolve the issue.
Uninstall and reinstall the Notepad on Windows 10.
- Right-click Start Menu and select Settings.
- Navigate to Apps > Apps & features > Optional features.
- Select Notepad.
- Click Uninstall.
- Click Add a features.
- Select Notepad.
- Click Install.
If reinstalling the Notepad does not help, please do a System File Checker and Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM tool). Please refer to the link below for the detailed instructions.
