All of my saved equalizer setting are missing from the Realtek HD  Audio manager after the last Windows 10 update. How can I get them back? Why did this even happen?

For example you have 5 custom equalizer which saved like me. Make 5 equalizer named 11111, 22222222,33333,44444,555555

Then import your old regedit with this instruction

In your C:\Windows.old folder, windows/system32/config, there is SOFTWARE file. You need this

    https://www.poremsky.com/windows/how-to-open-a-registry-file-from-a-crashed-computer/

You imported your old SOFTWARE regedit which it is before the update.

    Check this folder :

    *HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Dead Computer\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\MMDevices\Audio\Render*

Check the folders FxProperties every of them. Look for your old saved equalizer names, for example "Hoparlör" "Sony MDR-1R" like me...  You find them? Good! Now open Run and write "regedit -m", it will open new regedit which makes everything easy.

Open this folder at your new regedit

    *HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\MMDevices\Audio\Render*

And now find your 1111 2222 333 in FxProperties, you find them? Good!

    {69203b66-c559-499c-bb5f-f54563cd7d59},0  REG_SZ

    {69203b66-c559-499c-bb5f-f54563cd7d59},1  REG_SZ

    {69203b66-c559-499c-bb5f-f54563cd7d59},2  REG_SZ

    are the names...

    {36033203-cbc4-4960-9b48-490166ca34c9},0 REG_BINARY{36033203-cbc4-4960-9b48-490166ca34c9},1 REG_BINARY

    {36033203-cbc4-4960-9b48-490166ca34c9},2 REG_BINARY

are the equalizer hex. Which they starts with 41 00 xx xx xx

Copy the name and replace with 111111 one

Open the REG_BINARY thing and copy all codes and replace with your new 1111 EQ's REG_BINARY.. And done! Unlike the sliveroz's reply, it's possible and i recovered my all custom equalizer.

The equalizer reappears for me if I disabled and re-enabled the audio device in device manager.

However it disappears again at every reboot :(

Hi @Tromick, thanks for your reply.

My custom equalizer do not disappear, it's just the Equalizer UI in the Realtek Audio App.

Once I disable/enable the device after a reboot, the equalizer UI re-appears together with my custom equalizers.
