Windows 10 Will Not Allow Me To Change DVD Region

Wow, another problem!  I was given a Region 2 BluRay disc as a gift, watched the movie but now when I try to change it back to watch regular Region 1 Blurays, it won't let me. I have a Dell XPS running Windows 10.

At the bottom of this post is a pic of the error I get.

I"ve gone through device manager, I've updated the Dell driver, I've tried it with a disc in and a disc out, Googled for hours and nothing helps.

Is there anyway to reset this?

I had already tried that. That's why I posted above, it won't let me.

The picture I posted above is the error I get when it WON'T let me change the Region.

So I need a better suggestion than that, please read my post before answering, you're just telling me to do what I've already done.

Hello , sorry about your problems. My name is Marco and I am independent advisor. So, I will do my best to help you.

    Try this way.

-Press Windows + e keys to open Windows explorer

    -Right-click on the cd/dvd player

-Right-click on your player. From the context menu, select Properties.

    -Open "hardware" tab.

-Select the name of the player and at the bottom, do "properties".

    -Click the "DVD Region" tab.

-Look in the list offered to you and select a country in the region from which the DVD originates.

-Below the list of countries you can see the number of the current region of your player and just below, when you have chosen a country, the number of the new region.

-Press the OK button to save the region change of your DVD player.

Sorry, you only said you're going through device manager. So I proposed the other solution.

Did you also uninstall it in the device manager? If not, uninstall the player and restart the computer. It will reinstall it.
