File Explorer bugs and shows all icons as white pages

This issue has been bugging me for a few weeks now. Somethimes I'm searching for files, saving a work or opening some documents and suddenly the file explorer stops searching. When I look at my desktop, all my icons turn into blank pages and then the files on my windows explorer do the same.

The One Drive icon on the bottom right menu is crossed and disconected. I also can't open the command prompt, but all the other programs continue working.

The only way I found to undo this is by restarting windows.

I made a big update on windows a couple of weeks ago and I thought it stoped, my suddenly it happed again today while I was saving a screen shot.

Today I turned on my PC like this:

All my icons were blank pages and, when I open windows explorer, it just starts searching and stops right there.

It's the first time this happens right when I turn it on. I've done everything you said and this just keeps happening...

    Hi VictorLyrio,

Thank you for the detailed reply, you can also run the System File Checker and DISM tool with PowerShell (Admin mode).

    Thank you!

    Sincerely,

    P. Blancaflor

Hello PGBlanca, thank you for the reply.

I already tried the sistem file checker DISM tool. When the bug is happening, I can't open the command prompt and if it's not, it reports no problems.

As for the other 2 solutions, I'll try them when the error occurs again. Right now it is fine cause I had to restart for a software update.

I'll reply back as soon as I try them.
