I am no longer able to open chrome pdf files from an email(It worked earlier this week, using the mail app on a Microsoft laptop). I tried saving the files to my computer but it still did not work. I am in school so a lot of pdfs are getting sent to me and I need to be able to access them without having to wipe my entire computer because of all of the files I have saved and the software I have needed to download. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this or where I can go to fix this?

I ended up restarting my computer and for some reason, the mail app now works and the pdfs now open. I don't know why this didn't work earlier when I tried but it worked this time.

    Thanks for the help!

I see. I'm sorry to hear that. To fix your Mail app, you can either run the troubleshooter or reinstall it. Other than that, restoring to a restore point may also work. You can find the steps here.

In addition to that, since you mentioned that the issue with the PDF is not only happening in Mail app, I suggest going through the steps in the link below and see if it helps.

Hello. I have reset the Mail app that is on Microsoft (not outlook) but now I cannot open the app at all and I cannot access it through settings anymore. What should I do?

Outlook also has the same issue with opening pdf files.

    Hi, Bridget.

I'm Jen, an Independent Advisor and an Outlook user just like you. I don't work for Microsoft but I'm always willing to give any help that I can.

I understand you're having issues opening attachments from your Mail particularly the PDF files. I found a thread similar to your concern, you can try the steps suggested by K0MB.
