gpedit.msc is not available in Windows Home editions. You will need to refer to the registry keys and delete/adjust accordingly. Also, if you have connected your school or work email to your computer, this can also lock-out certain settings, which also eluded to in the threads I linked to.

Lets address one thing at a time.

See my previous threads regarding the Windows Defender Security panel issues for potential solutions:

As for the "Require sign-in" options missing, create a password or PIN if you have not already. If you have done that already, then convert your MS account to a local account (it will still be linked to your Microsoft account): https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/swi...

    Hi WilliamDz,

Thanks for taking your time to help me out.

I am currently repairing Adobe Creative Cloud. hope the log in error get fixed.

As for the Windows defender issue,

I use 360 total security most of the time. But, on a fateful morning I had a problem with windows firewall error code 0x6D9. Luckily I managed to fix that.

After that I uninstalled 360 security and wanted to use windows defender just to find that I had another problem there too.

(from the link I provided, it's my reply, copy-pasted)

That's when I got the windows defender issue.

Hi and thanks for reaching out. My name is William. I'm a Microsoft Windows Certified Professional and Systems Administrator. I'll be happy to help you out today.

Your first issue, the error you re seeing at logon, ccxprocess.exe is related to the Adobe Creative Cloud Experience: CCXProcess is a background process that supports Adobe Creative Cloud applications to provide dynamic content including tutorials, stock templates and filters. This can be part of Adobe Acrobat, Reader, or another Adobe program you have installed. It looks like it has a dependency on one of the older shared C runtime components. You should repair/uninstall/reinstall the Adobe product to correct this issue. To uninstall the program, press Windows key + R > type appwiz.cpl > select Repair/Change or Uninstall.

As for the Windows Security Defender issue, based on one of the links you referred, that you are unable to access the Windows Defender Security panel to change settings. Can you confirm that you have not installed any 3rd party antivirus? If you did, then this would be expected since 3rd party antivirus would disable Windows Defender.
