5G wifi wont show up on list of networks

My PC is not recognizing my home wifi network's 5G (Spectrum).  Yes, my PC is 5G compatible but my PC is not picking up the 5G network.

Looked at the network adaptors and tried to find the 802.11n mode to see if it was disabled, but there was no option there with that label.  Instead I found AdHoc11n and enabled that and restarted my PC.

No avail.  Yes I am in range of the 5G network.

Is this because of recent windows 10 update?  I've also noticed that my Wifi is losing packages ever since an update in September causing 3-4 second lag intermittently while gaming.

We've gotten a new router and modem since then but the network has always been available until recently.

    Those models are:

    technicolor DPC3216

    Sagemcom Fast 5260

Your Technicolor modem has nothing to do with WiFi.

Your Sagemcom router supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 Ghz.

Does your WiFi adapter support both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz?

    (BTW: Your router is 802.11ac)

    Hi immalilpeatot,

your Dell Wireless Adapter 1705 802.11b / g / n does not support the 5 GHz network but only 2.4 GHz (it also says).

    Hi immalilpeatot,

Has your PC previously connected to your home network via 5 GHz? In any case, AdHoc11n has nothing to do with 5 GHz.

Specify the exact model of your wi-fi adapter.
