Windows 8.1 boot logo disappeared

Hello everyone, computer works fine, but boot logo is not displaying.

I was fooling around with replacing the boot logo with a custom home design image just for fun using the follwing method: "8oot logo", this only had the effect of displaying any boot image. I have copied the original bootrez.dll and removed the new bootrez.dll from its location, returning the original bootrez.dl. No change. Weird. There must be some config file, setting, perhaps regedit setting or something that must be turned on.

I also used, afterward, the winaero tweaker tool. I applied the settings as per instruction within the program but no effect.

There must be a way of fixing the issue without reinstalling everything.

Possible issue: the bootrez.dll may not have the correct security certificate. (when following the 8oot Logo Changer program there is a prompt for a program called "Signer64" that is supposed to open and you are to let it sign the new bootrez.dll. This doesn´t appear.

8oot Logo Changer alters these files: Shell32.dll.mui and basebrd.dll.mui

Well, I would like to both be able to restore the windows logo. Any advice help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Steve
