How do I turn off the Caps Lock Notification?

I just bought a new Dell with Windows 10 Pro.  It has this annoying feature of popping up a caps lock notification no matter what program I'm using.  I tried using these directions I found on how to turn it off, but I don't see a screen configuration tab at the end of these instructions, so I think my system is a little different.  I find these feature really annoying and distracting, so any help would be appreciated!  Thanks.

  1. Press the Windows key on the keyboard and select Settings.
  2. Click System.
  3. Choose Display and click Advanced display settings.
  4. Scroll down and select Display adapter properties.
  5. Click on Screen configurations tab.

I encountered this issue plaguing me for hours and took me hours too (half-day) to solve it.

One possible solutions out of many on Internet is:

    Root Cause

Caused by Dell Peripheral Manager program (installed) when wireless usb is inserted into your computing device, auto-installation of drivers etc.

    Solution

Control Panel --> Uninstall Program --> Remove 'Dell Peripheral Manager'

It works for me, it may work for your specific case problem too. Good luck solving, troubleshooting away.

You rocks. Works like a charm. I got the same issue with other brands of laptops too. Just wondering why laptop manufactures put so many non-sense pre-installed sh*t and don't even provide a way to turn it off.

    Hi,

I cannot reply in that thread, sorry for creating new one (ticket?) only for that matter but this is a big issue for anyone who is using DELL keyboard and the solution is pretty simple - under Dell Peripheral Manager -> Settings -> [disable] Enable lock key notifications (disable this and problem is solved)
*thread posted by @Green Jawns (locked as for today)

This way you do not have to uninstal Dell Peripheral Manager loosing your key bindings and so on! This simple option solves the problem.
*and the problem is huge, for example in games, when you press CapsLock on your DELL keyboard it is forcing you out of the game to pulpit - very annoying (because of that DELL notification popup)

I hope support guys will add this message to that thread :) (sorry, I cannot reply there but really want to share this to others - solution is simple as that)

    Hi Dave,

Thanks so much for your help.  I asked at Dell first and they said it was a Windows problem, but it was pretty clear the person had no clue, so I'm not surprised you're saying this.  Here's what it looks like.   I'm a writer so I really don't like these kind of distractions while I'm typing, any help super appreciated...

    Chris

    Hi Green

I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this . . .

Those instructions do not work, because Windows does not have a Caps Lock indicator, that functionality is provided by a utility installed on your PC by Dell or perhaps the Keyboard manufacturer

Please provide a screenshot of the Caps Lock Indicator you are seeing, so I can work out what utility is providing that . . .
