Actually the issue with pixel phones is that they can't cast to a device which isn't Chromecast enabled means, the device you are trying to connect to must have Chromecast built in or must be using that physical Chromecast device. I got this information from Google Pixel support team as I was experiencing the same issue. The laptop unfortunately doesn't have the Chromecast, so I guess we can't do anything.

    Hello Nikhar,

This is the fix BEFORE android 10.  pixel does not allow 'screen mirroring' and u cant project to a 'wireless display' .

    is there another solution?

Like the reporter of this problem, ive tried many options with no success.  the above does not work eiher.

    Thank you!

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you want to cast your Android Phone screen to Windows 10 computer using Connect app. I’ll certainly assist you with the details.

Ideally, to project the screen from your Android phone to Windows 10 PC, both the devices should be connected to same network. Once the devices are connected to the same network, you will be able to cast the screen.

I would suggest you to refer the steps mentioned below and see if that helps:

    1.     Type Connect in the search bar on the Taskbar and select Open.

    2.     Now, on the phone, pull down the Notification drawer from top and click on the Cast or Screen Mirroring icon.

    3.     Click on More Settings option and select Enable Wireless display.

    4.     Now, select your computer from the available devices.

    5.     You should be able to see your phone screen on the PC.

Alternatively, you can try to change the settings for Projecting to this PC and check if that helps. Follow the steps mentioned below:

    1. Press Windows key + I, to open Settings.
    2. Click on System and click on Projecting to this PC.
    3. Under Some Windows and Android devices can project to this PC when you say it’s OK, select Available Everywhere from the drop down.
    4. Under Ask to project to this PC, select Every time a connection is requested.

After changing the settings, try projecting the Phone screen to the PC and check if it works.

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards,

    Nikhar Khare
