Changing Time Zones in Windows 10

I cannot change my time zone in Windows 10. The time zone option in Settings is greyed out.

I have tried all three fix options provided in other threads but no joy.

With COVID and the new normal of Teleworkiing, people are now Time Zone Dynamic. My computer sits in Central Time Zone but my work location is Pacific Time Zone. I mentally am in PST while logged into work and switch to CST when I log out.

The problem is with the computer permanently set to CST, all of my Outlook Calendar schedules are in CST. This creates great confusion when I create a meeting at 9 am PST but it shows on my VDI calendar as 11 am.

I must have everything in my virtual workspace following the time zone where that workspace is located.

Microsoft should make adjustments to Windows to be more user friendly for teleworking. "User-friendly" seems to have eluded MS since the early 80s!

Hi! I'm an Independent Advisor, my name is Lui and would be happy to assist you today.

Even though you have already tried about 3 troubleshooting attempts with no luck, I'm directing you to a thread the poster mentioned the method worked well in their case, which could be useful to yours in the end.

So, just referring to the answer by the MS community member JayTan08:

"1. Type in 'cmd' in search box. You'll see Command Prompt listed. Right-click and select Run as Administrator.

    1. Type 'tzutil /l' to see a list of all time zones. Once you find your time zone, copy the description that is on the second line.

    Example:

(UTC-06:00) Central Time (US & Canada)

    Central Standard Time <---- copy

    1. Type 'tzutil /s "(paste the time zone here)"

    Example:

tzutil /s "Central Standard Time" (make sure to include the quotations) then press ENTER.

    1. Exit the Command Prompt and verify that the Timezone is correct."

Hope it can help you solve this issue,

First of all, my post contained a suggestion that MS should come up with a fix to the OS to make it easier to change TZ on the fly due to the new massive move to teleworking forced by the pandemic. When teleworking, often people start moving to other TZ because teleworking does not require a person to remain in one location.

Second, the fix you refer to is the overwhelming hit that comes up in searches.

The fix you refer to is much more difficult for laymen to execute.
