Thanks for your reply. Activation wasn’t possible due to it being OEM installed (a Toshiba L305) and my key would no longer work phone or otherwise. I paid $24 for a digital version of Windows 7 and then the free upgrade to Windows 10. I paid another $8 for an upgraded 5 ghz wireless USB connection, $12 for a 32 gig Sd card for readyboost and I am cruising along good! Thanks again for your reply! Squier Red, apparently I have two log ins.
Windows Vista Activation
I am case no 101032445. I had to reinstall my windows vista on my computer. I have the product key but it will not activate again. I have web designing software on my computer and only use this older computer for this purpose. I called the phone activation number which said they no longer support Vista. I only want to be able to use what I already paid for and have a product key for. Is the anyway to resolve my problem??????? I feel as though I should be able to use my product if it has to be reinstalled.

Have you tried the OPTION 2 under "How to do a Phone Activation" in the VistaForums tutorial at How to Activate Vista Normally and by Phone Activation (i.e., by typing slui.exe 4 in the Run dialog box to generate an Installation ID and local phone number for automated activation)? When you call the phone number for the automated system and read out your Installation ID number over the phone, it should give you a Confirmation ID you can write down and then type in to the interface to complete the activation, but if the automated system doesn't work just stay on the phone and wait to be transferred to an activation operator who can provide you with a Confirmation ID.
I know of a few Vista SP2 users who recently reported that this slui.exe 4 method worked - see SIW2's 07-Aug-2020 post <here> for one example. Unfortunately, Microsoft permanently deactivated Windows Update for Win XP and Vista computers on 03-Aug-2020, so even if you manage to get your clean reinstall of Vista re-activated it's going to be much more difficult now (but not impossible) to manually patch your system back to end of support (11-Apr-217). I'd suggest you read the VistaForums FAQ What To Do if Windows Update Hangs or Throws an Error [UPDATED August 2020] for further information before you start the reactivation.

As I said Microsoft are the ones to go to with activation problems..
Microsoft never looks at these Vista forums.
