How Do I Turn On Windows 10's Hardware-Assisted Virtualization?

OS: Win 10

Chip: AMD (HP Pavilion)

I am trying to run an Adroid app, on my Win 10 pc.

An error message, though, stated:

"Bluestacks is unable to use Hardware Assisted Virtualisation for better performance. Please check BIOS settings and ensure it is enabled."

So, I followed the instructions, below:

"Enable Hyper-V Virtualization in Windows 10

Press the Windows key to get the Search box.

Type “turn windows features on or off” and click on it to open it.

Scroll down and check the box next to Hyper-V.

Click OK.

Windows will install the necessary files to enable virtualization.

You'll then be asked to reboot PC."

Not finding "Hyper-V" or "Hardware Assisted Virtualization", I tried looking, for something similar, in name. Hence, I enabled the "Windows Hypervisor Platform".

Yet, the initial error message kept showing up.

So, I undid my actions, by disabling that Windows Hypervisor Platform.

Later, when I tried running the Microsoft® Hardware-Assisted Virtualization Detection Tool, an error message said the program would not run, on my OS.

So, how do I get my Win 10's Hardware Assisted Virtualisation enabled?

Please reply.

Hi Quest. I'm Greg, an installation specialist, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, and Volunteer Moderator, here to help you.

If you go into WIndows Settings > Apps > Apps & Features > scroll down to Programs & Features > Turn Windows Features On & Off. In the box that opens you should see Hyper-V, check the box besides it and Apply. Close box, restart PC.

If it's not in the box then go back to Settings > Apps > Apps & Features > Optional Features to see if Hyper V is in the list to install.

If not then check in the BIOS for any settings to enable Virtualization.

If you cannot find these settings anywhere then your PC does not Support virtualization. If you are in doubt about this, contact the manufacturer's Support, or report back here the make/model so I can research the model further.

I hope this helps. Based on the results you report back I may have other suggestions if necessary. If you will wait to choose whether the problem is resolved, then I will continue to help until the problem is fixed.

I tried the first 2 approaches you recommended, but did not find the Virtualization switch.

So, now, I'm having to try the BIOS.

    How do I access that?

    Please reply.
