I am unsure of what to do to get Adobe Photoshop Elements 2020 installed on my new laptop.  It appears that if I switch to Windows 10 S version there will be adverse effects.  Any guidance will be appreciated.

Thanks, William.  Unfortunately, I have purchased the Software!  I don't want to spend anymore money.  Do I have any other solutions that you might know?  Appreciate the help.

Hi and thanks for reaching out. My name is William, I’m an Independent Advisor. I'll be happy to help you out today.

For starters, you cannot switch to S Mode. This is a special out-of-the-box configuration that comes with the OS. Once you remove it, you cannot go back.

That said, it is not necessary to switch to S Mode to install and use Adobe Photoshop. You can either purchase the product from Adobe (https://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-elemen...) or purchase it from the Microsoft Store. They ae not inclusive of each other, i.e. the Microsoft Store licensed version does not entitle you to use the version downloaded directly from Adobe as they use different platforms.
