Having trouble finding drivers for old HP PSC 1410 printer

Windows 10 x64,   HP PSC 1410

The printer works fine using HPLIP on a Ubuntu VM, but on windows, I cant get it to print, only scan. I've tried all I can think of.  I've tried using HP's All-In-One installer which ended in a fatal error, using generic drivers that did not work, using WLS to install HPLIP which I couldn't do, tried using different kind of HP drivers, didn't work. Please help me find a driver for my printer, or diagnose a problem.

Hello, Manoloudikos I'm an independent advisor and I will try to help you today.

Regarding your query, could you tell me if you have your windows updated? I ask you because there is an update that is causing problems with some printers.

On the other hand, let's remove all the waste from failed installations and try again. Please follow these instructions:

1 - Go to Start> Settings> Applications> Applications and features, and there look for if there is something from the printer for you to uninstall.

2 - Go to the program files folders, check the folders related to the printer and delete them as well.

3 - Delete temporary files from the computer. To do this, please press the Windows + R key combination to bring up the "Run" window. In this window, type the command "temp" without the quotes and then hit the enter key.

Now delete the entire contents of the folder that is opened and finally, repeat the same action but this time with the command "% temp%"

    1. When you have finished everything, try the installation again

    time.

Tell me if you have used the drivers on this page, if not download and install them.

Didn't work. I'm on version 2004. I've tried HP's drivers but they do not work. From HPLIP, I found and got a .ppd file which I used for a "Generic" MS Publisher Color Printer. It spools, stays on the printing stage for like 8s, and then Event Viewer says Document 8, Print Document owned by username on \USERNAME was printed on MS Publisher Color Printer through port USB001.  Size in bytes: 6274776. Pages printed: 1. No user action is required. But it did not print.

    Hi, Manoloudikos

Ok, try cleaning the print queue:

    1. Press the Windows keys + x
    2. Select Windows PowerShell (administrator)
    3. Type: net stop spooler and press Enter.
    4. Then write

    from "% SYSTEMROOT% \ System32 \ spool \ printers \ *. *" / q / f

    and press Enter.

and finally enter net start spooler press Enter and it will run.

Then reboot and test if it worked
