We've been trying to diagnose an issue with my sons laptop where the error repeats.

He's using a windows 10 home device on 20H2 - device meets minimum hardware requirements Core i3 4012y, 4GB RAM, 128GB hard drive (with more than 20GB available).

I've tried some of the other steps mentioned in other threads concerning this error and can run this on my windows 10 desktop. (both are connected to the same network at home). He also has this issue at his school on their network.

He was able to run this prior to his high school imaging his device earlier this year.

I've reset IE and deleted items from the InetCache folder.

The device refuses to bring up the microsoft account log in.

Any other suggestions (have uninstalled and reinstalled a number of times already) Last resort would be to re-image the device.

Have you checked the computer to make sure there is only one version of the game on there? That means no other install files also you cannot have the Windows App version of the game and the Desktop version of the game on the same device, otherwise this type of error message will always happen.

If you have only one version then uninstall completely and install the latest version from this link.

Hi, I'm Robinson, an Independent Advisor and a Windows user like you.

First of all, check if doesn't any corrupt file on the windows.

1-Press Start>Windows System> Command Prompt right-click run as admin and type these commands.

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth [Enter]

    sfc /scannow [Enter]

    2-Run the troubleshoot.

Press Start>settings>Update& Security>Troubleshoot then click on the "Additional troubleshoot" and select Windows Store Apps

Unfortunately no luck. He is logged into the computer with a local admin accout, rather than a Microsoft or organisation accout, will this make a difference?

about the only thing left is to reset windows and keep user files

most of the time this gets ahead of problem

you may want to also get a larger system disk if at all possible
