Input lag whenever I join a call

Hi,

I've been having this problem since I bought this computer and I haven't been so annoyed with it until now, when I have to be on a video call almost every day.

Whenever I join a call, like discord, zoom, or in other games, I always get key input lag which is hard to deal with in games, when you have to have precise movements. I've tested this with most call platforms, and the same thing happens. It makes it hard to communicate with other people. My keyboard and mouse seem to work fine, so It's not that.

Device specifications:

Ideapad FLEX 5-1570

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)  i7-8550U CPU @ 1.80GHz 2.00GHz

Installed RAM: 16 GB (15.9 GB Usable)

System type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Nvidia geforce

Thank you!

I just found the fix for my computer! It seems to be a Lenovo problem with FMAPP.exe from the Realtek audio driver. This thread (at the bottom) gives the solution that worked for me: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-L-R-and-SL-series-Laptops/keyboard-lag-with-google-meet-L390/m-p/4387727?page=2

I hope this helps for you too!

Then maybe it's just our computer. I thought it was supposed to be a great computer, but this flaw really makes it very unappealing to me.

I have this same problem when using Zoom on my new ThinkPad laptop. I do not have this problem with my older (lower spec) ThinkPad. Did you find a solution yet?
