Screen and sound randomly stutter.

Since the 9th of October my screen and sound have randomly stuttered. Since then I've been trying to figure out what's been causing the problems but I've been unable to do so yet. I thought it might be important to ask for help here since I think it might have something to do with an update I installed for windows on the 9th. If more info is needed just tell me and I'll try to provide it. Thanks in advance.

Someone told me that it may have been some drivers that I hadn't checked for updates and that I could use Iobit driver booster to check if there were any updates for my drivers. Apparently there were some drivers that I wouldn't have thought to check that weren't updated and after Iobit downloaded the latest version the stuttering stopped.

Ok, let's keep trying, do the following:

    Start> Settings> Update & Security> Troubleshooter> Additional Troubleshooters.

From that list select audio playback and run the troubleshooter

Then you select video playback and run the troubleshooter

You restart and tell me how are you

Ok, let's try using the System File Checker tool to repair your system files.

    Follow the steps below:

Press the Win + X keys and select Command Prompt (Administrator) or Windows PowerShell (Administrator), in the window that will open, you must type the commands in their respective order:

    • DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

    • DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

    • DISM.exe /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup

    • sfc /scannow

Each command may take a few minutes, so it is important to run one at a time.

At the end of the process, restart the computer.

Let me know how it went

I've already updated the drivers of my graphics card, motherboard and soundcard. Device manager tells me I have the latest drivers for everything under display adapters and audio inputs and outputs.

I'll give some more info on things I've already tried. I tried deinstalling the updates I think were responsible but it didn't give me the option. I've tested my RAM using memtest but it told me there were no errors. I used a few benchmarks to see if my graphics card was dying but it doesn't seem to be.

Hi, JoepKregting I'm an independent advisor, and I'm here to help you.

In regard to your query, did you try to update the drivers? If you have not done them please follow the steps that I indicate:

    1. Press Windows keys + x
    2. Select Device Manager
    3. Look for the option of Display adapters and display it
    4. Right-click on the option that appears there and then select "update driver" and then "search for drivers automatically"
    5. Allow me to search and install if necessary.

Later you will do the same but looking for the audio inputs and outputs in the list. Just as I leave you the steps, repeat the procedure with the audio devices that you find.

    1. Press Windows keys + x
    2. Select Device Manager
    3. Look for the option of "audio inputs and outputs" and display it
    4. Right-click on the option that appears there and then select "update driver" and then "search for drivers automatically"
    5. Allow me to search and install if necessary.

I hope it can be of help. At your service,

    Jesus C.
