Xbox Series X controller is successfully paired however within game (any game) there is no input from the controller. If I connect via cable then I do get input. Paired several times to no avail. I have the latest windows 10 updates and there is no update for the controller pending.

    Hi,

I've been having the same problems. I am up to date with my drivers and pc system. When I test, the buttons are okay. When I enter the game menus, the buttons are okay. But when I enter the game, there is no recognition of some of the button habits. I know the controller works because of the testing of it in the xbox accessories app and in the game menu, but when the game starts there's issues with the buttons. I have an xbox one controller and it work fine with bluetooth and when the xbox series x controller is connected it works fine. I've searched for a solution to no avail.

Hey there, I've been in touch with an gaming agent, and I had the exact same issue as yourself.

If your XBOX Series/One controller came with the cable and adapter, you might have to make sure you check the optional updates tab, as for some unknown reason the Adapter is not recognised as a recommended update.

It should be under Settings > Update> Advanced options and you need to check "Recieve updates for other Microsoft products when you update Windows".

Now it did take a couple of minutes for it to show up, but when you check for updates (on a compatible USB 2 or 3 (type-A) port), it should be in a dropdown box for "Other updates", click on that and the adapter driver should be downloadable and updatable on that window.

Let me or the community know if this works, because I've managed to get mine to work on this PC which doesn't have Bluetooth inbuilt on it.

the issue i have the game recognizes my xbox x series controller and keep in mind am running windows 2h2 , the newest version, when i play through the cable it works without any problems but when i play via bluetooth, the game will pick up my xbox controller , il go through the prompts to play the game then everything will register, then as time goes some of the buttons wont work for maybe 5seconds in game then they will work, so decided to test with fifa, when i saw fifa picked up my controller as 2 controllers when you go to the select sides tab, but when i plug it in wired it picks it up as one controller and it works properly, i even reset my windows, firmware of the controller is up to date, so i dont know if its the issue with bluetooth within the controller, i dont know what fix to deploy except to play wirelessly until someone has a suggestion

By driver do you mean the bluetooth driver? I have already updated the controller to the latest firmware via xbox accessories.

    Many thanks for your help.

    Hi CheshPainter.

My name is Daniela, I am an independent advisor and I will be happy to help you today.

I hope you are very well.

Regarding your problem of controls, follow these steps to pair your remote and your PC with Bluetooth:

Turn on the Xbox Wireless Controller by pressing the Xbox button.

Press and hold the link button on the remote for three seconds and release it.

On your PC, select Start and then select Settings>Devices>Bluetooth and other devices.

Turn on Bluetooth so your PC can detect devices with Bluetooth.

    Select Xbox Wireless Controller>Pair.

Make sure your equipment is up to date.

    Have a wonderful day.

    Best regards.

    Daniela.
