With device connected -

Uninstalled *THEIR* device and driver with device manager. (STM VCP version 1.4   Virtual com port driver)

Unplug device

Reboot

Plug device in

Odd device detection occurs . Yellow triangle. Exclamation.

Dear Shingaddy,I understand that you want to delete some programs in Windows that are not possible only in the Control Panel.

I recommend the Ccleaner, link para download abaixo:

https://www.ccleaner.com

After downloading and installing Ccleaner in the "Tools" and "Uninstall" options, you will have options to delete the programs you want.

Note: I recommend that you do not use the registry cleaner, as it may be that during cleaning the Windows files may be corrupted.

I hope I helped, see you soon!

I have now uninstalled the ONE AND ONLY device with dev manager and deleted the driver in the same process by selecting the box.

I have now physically removed the device.

I have performed sfc (nothing found/fixed - I am admin.) and Dism. No reported issues. Just "Success"

    I have now  Rebooted

I see the following items with ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS and try to uninstalled them and -

    For Every one of THESE

I get varying flavors ( file name references different) of THESE for EACH ONE:

I have NOT tinkered around in the registry.

Plus I deleted the folder STMicroelectronics that the driver installer COPIES files from ST into,  to allow "INSTALLING"

    the drivers.

    Please advise.

Dear Shingaddy, what driver would be with this problem?

Initially I suggest the following steps:

Press the Windows + X keys, select Command Prompt (Admin), copy and paste the commands below and press enter after each command.

    Sfc /ScanNow

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

After performing this procedure restart the pc and see if the problem still persists.

Hope to help, see you soon!

Thank you I should have added  Re-installing THEIR driver - Uhmmm... WORKS, as far as I can tell.

So you are saying - their recommendation is- wrong.  I'll notify them.

BUT.   The Uninstall issue when using ADD/REMOVE programs which refers to THEIR DRIVER

still seems fouled. When I UNINSTALL device from Device manager, then try to uninstall the PACKAGE

from the machine with ADD/REMOVE programs. I get the DIFX error.

    Any clues on that?

Hello shingadaddy, welcome to the Microsoft community, my name is Luiz Cruz, an independent consultant and I would be happy to help you.

I understand that you are having trouble installing a driver after upgrading to Windows 10, that driver does not appear to be supported for Windows 10.

Go to your computer manufacturer's website to download the latest drivers.

Right-click on the driver icon, choose the option to troubleshoot compatibility.

    Click try recommended settings.

In the new window described as troubleshooting program compatibility, click the option to test the program.

Finishing the test, click on Next.

On the next screen click Yes, save these settings for the program.

And lastly click on close troubleshooting.

I hope this resolves, see you soon!
