Cloning Hard Drive onto SSD Using Macrium Reflect
I used Macrium Reflect to clone my hard drive onto my Samsung 970 Evo SSD. Upon completion, I went into BIOS, set the SSD as the boot drive, and was met with a screen that says that the SSD isn't a bootable media. All I want to do is to have windows 10 on my SSD so that it can boot faster. So far, I have used the media creation tool, ISO, and Macrium Reflect to no avail. Help!

2020-11-30T07:11:30+00:00 (1) If the SSD boots well with the HDD unplugged, then it was the system partition on the HDD that caused the trouble. So wiping the HDD is the best cure. That also prevents it from being drawn into a dual-boot.
(2) Here is how to repair the Windows installation to cure anomalous, intractable problems...
Make a Win 10 Installation USB drive or make an ISO...
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
Download Windows 10 - This is always the latest finalized Windows version, currently 20H2.
Download MediaCreationTool20H2.exe & run it to make a Windows 10 Installation USB drive or an ISO file. Follow the instructions under "Using the tool to create installation media". As it says, match it to the Language, & Architecture (x64/64-bit or x86/32-bit) of the computer on which it will be used. The Windows Edition to take is "Windows 10", which includes both Home & Pro. That is all prefilled, if the tool is run on the computer in question. Instructions are at the site how to use those to do a repair/upgrade install. It is a repair, if your currently installed version is the same as the Installation media or ISO. Otherwise, it will upgrade to 20H2.
Basically, you boot to Windows, plug in the USB drive, open it in File Explorer, & click Setup.exe.
Or, if an ISO, right-click it in File Explorer, & select Mount; then click its Setup.exe.

Best read that, there are some cautions mentioned, such as to turn off BitLocker first.

2020-11-29T23:40:53+00:00 Hello SevenSixtyThree, how are you?
I am an independent consultant and user like you!
I'm happy to help you!
The causes of the failure to initialize the cloned SSD vary from different cloning tools. In general, people clone everything, including disk, partitions and files when choosing the "clone" feature. If the source disk you chose had bad sectors and unresolved errors, chances are that you replicate the errors, too, making the destination disk difficult to boot normally. Any other cases that the SSD does not start?
- Deceived by poorly executed SSD cloning software;
- The cloning process causes system corruption;
- Lose the cloning of the "reserved system" partition;
- Set the wrong drive to boot.
- The drive letter may have changed while you change the HD to SSD. And this progress can cause a lack of boot files, which makes the cloned SSD not boot on Windows 10/8/7.
Among others.
Did you have any error messages during the cloning process?
My suggestion is that you format your SSD, and try the process again! Perhaps with some tutorial but explanatory. Accompanying if no error message appears!
If that doesn't work, you should look for another renowned tool for cloning.
I will be here to help with anything! ;)
