This can happen for several factors, such as drivers or even the video signal cable.
I suggest that you first update your windows to the latest version, and after that check the manufacturer's website, the video driver to update it to the latest version.
Also please test with a different cable if the same problem occurs, there may be a fault in the cable, it is not able to transmit the correct color in the new resolution you are trying to change.
