Windows Media Player v12

I have registered for a webinar and it is asking for me to verify rich media players using UCF.  it lists two Windows Media and Flash.  I have Windows Media 12 installed but when I click the Check Now button it returns a message 'If your Windows Media Player is compatible with UCF, a file plays automatically in this window. If a file does not play, or your computer experiences problems during playback, click the following link to reinstall Windows Media Player: Download Windows Media Player'.

Everything I have researched indicates that version 12 of Media Player support UCF.  Has anyone experienced this issue?  If so what plug in is required?  or do I have to delete and reinstall the program?

thanks in advance

I had the same problem. I used Google Chrome and  I uninstalled and reinstalled the windows media player multiple times without any difference.

Finally, when I tried running Internet Explorer, it worked. During the process, it asked for permission to install a Microsoft extension/plugin and I accepted.

Hi, my name is Felipe Lucas, Independent Advisor and Microsoft Windows user like you.

I'll be happy to help you.

To play rich media content files your computer should meet the following system requirements:

    Windows

    • Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 (or later)

    • Internet Explorer 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 (or later)

    • Adobe Flash player 11 or later (for Flash files)

    • Windows Media Player 11 or later (for most audio and video files)

    • QuickTime 7 or later (for QuickTime and other audio and video files not supported by Window Media

    Player)

Can you check if you meet the requirements?

Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

I have Windows Media Player version 12but it still indicates that this plug in is not supported but doesn't indicate what plug in it is.  Any other suggestions.

I suggest you install Quicktime too.

Also install the Renderer plugin for WMP12, you can check how to do that in the link below:

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.
