Hello, CharlesThatcher I'm an independent advisor and I will try to help you today.
As for your query, do you have a headset with a microphone or is it the microphone that your equipment has incorporated?
On the other hand, run the troubleshooter to see if the error is corrected, do the following:
- Press the windows keys + I
- Select Update and security
- Go to the Troubleshooter option
- Click on Additional Troubleshooters
- Click on Audio recording
- Run the troubleshooter, Wait for it to do the scan and fix some bugs.
You repeat the same procedure with the Voice option
Then reboot and see if the problem is corrected.
Then adjust the microphone settings
- Press the windows keys + r
- In the box that appears type control panel
- Select Hardware and Sound> Sound.
- The Sound Properties window will open. Then, on the Recording tab, one-click the microphone. Then click the Properties button.
- In the Microphone Properties, select the Levels tab. Then you will see two sliders which are:
• Microphone (Multiple Microphones): controls the microphone volume.
• Microphone Booster - Controls the strength of the microphone signal.
- You can start the adjustment by setting the Microphone to 50 and the Microphone Booster to +20.0 dB.
- Click the Listen tab. Here, you will activate the option: Listen to this device, so you can hear your own voice and check that the microphone is working.
- Click the Apply button to begin the tests by speaking out loud and listening to your voice.
- When you have verified that it works, deactivate the option: Listen to this device. Then click the OK button to apply the changes.
- Finally, in the Sound Properties window, click the OK button.
