So I have windows 10 Pro, but i want to be using Home, don't tell me that there is no way for me to downgrade or at least a workaround like "what services to disable or remove completely" for my Windows Pro edition to be Home.

Any help would be great :) thanks in advance.

    Dear dave,

too bad you did not clarify that reinstalling windows and picking Windows Home instead of Pro on the same hardware where Pro was originally installed works!! I bought a 2nd hand windows home key for about $35! Thank god i did not buy the key from microsoft.com.

there really should be clear instructions about this kind of stuff! Thats why i was asking in the first place, because it just doesnt make any sense to buy a higher tier package with the lower tear one not being available to downgrade at no cost!! But sadly i searched the internet for about 2 hours trying to find an answer and i couldnt.

i guess no one ever wanted to downgrade from Pro to Home.

    HI Mike

I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this . . .

A Windows 10 Pro licence key cannot be used to activate Windows 10 Home, they have a separate set of licence keys.

Also, to go from the Pro to Home version of Windows 10 would mean you would have to backup your files, clean install the Home version, then re-install all your software

There is not that much difference between the Pro and Home versions, and if you do not use the extra functionality like drive encryption and remote Desktop, then there is no real point in swapping versions, and the Por version is as fast as the Home version, may I ask why you want to downgrade to the Home version, perhaps there is another way to do what you want . . .

    Hi Mike

That is some powerful rig you have put together, congrats on that !!

Sorry that I do not have a solution for you with regards to downgrading to the home version, but there is really no other option but to clean install Windows 10 Home and get a Home licence, or perhaps you may find someone who would swap licenses with you . . .

I dont think it being as fast as the pro is the terminology i’d describe but for some reason i’m having a bit of sync issues between my games and my input actions, every piece of my hardware was either upgraded swapped or changed and it did not work, i changed ISP’s, i fixed elextricity and grouding, everything i have done so far the past 2 years probably was trying to figure out where is this input lag and desync coming from. And titerary the only thing left to change is either me or the operating system! None of my friends are having this issue, i played on my friends setup for a bit, his rig is not half as good as mine but the game just runs way smoother and more insync with my actions and all.

    my rig is:

    9900KS

    2080TI

    Z390 aorus ultra

    8x2 predator 4000mhz

    1tb nvme samsung 970evo

    850 seasonic platinum PS

200 symmetrical private fiber line “connected only to my pc”

So trouble shooting everything outside of playing a game just looks good, latencymon for example, good results with no spikes. But gaming is just not what you’d expect.

if you place another person on my pc he would probably say i cant tell whats wrong, but i am a bit sensitive to input lag and i can tell when the game is not running insync with my input actions.

so the only thing different is all of my friends have just the normal home version not the pro.
