Control Panel Opens and Closes Itself Immediately in Windows 10

I have had a problem for the last 2 weeks. All of a sudden, Control Panel stopped working. When I click the icon, it opens and closes itself immediately in about a tenth of a second. I've done a fairly extensive search and tried suggested solutions below:

Run SFC (no errors found)
Run DISM (nada)
Disable IDT Audio Driver (my system did not have one)
Disable MS Windows error reporting (no impact)
Try opening in Safe Mode (nope, same issue)

I am at wits end trying to resolve this. Nothing seems to work. I really do not want to reformat my hard drive if it can be helped. Any suggestions would be truly and gratefully accepted.

Unfortunately, I already tried that as well but forgot to include it in the list. It did not help either. Any other ideas?

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue.

Please try this steps that might help solve the problem:

1, Go to start and search "msconfig", open the search result that appear.

Go to Services tab and sort the names to easily find "Windows Error Reporting Service"
Uncheck the box and click Ok.
Restart your PC and repeat steps 1 to 2 and make sure that the "Disabled on date" part beside the service has a date attached to it.
Try running control panel again.
