I comment to you that CIEP is a feature that is enabled by default in some Windows 10 preinstalled, for collects and sends system information to Microsoft. The information that the feature collects includes hardware configuration and how you use the operating system and other products, helping the company improve the quality of future releases.
By the above, and the image that you sent me, the option is Not Configured, but could be in execution, marking Enabled is activated the Turn Off function.
Now, depending on the Windows version (Home by example) should be necessary to modify some other options to disable this feature, that explain in the next steps:
A) Use the registry editor,
- In Search area, Type regedit
- Click OK to open the registry.
- Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
- Expand SOFTWARE
- Expand Policies
- Expand Microsoft
- Verify if the "SQMClient" folder appear, else continue in 2)
- Right-click, select New and click Key.
-Select the newly created key, right-click on the right side, select New, and click DWORD Value (32-bit).
- Name the DWORD as CEIPEnable and press Enter.
- Double click on the newly created DWORD and make sure its value is set to 0.
- Click OK.
- Still in Registry, in the Microsoft folder Expand Windows (below Microsoft folder)
Verify the "Cloud Content" folder appear, else continue in Note)
- Click on folder "Cloud Content", search on the right-side the word "DisableWindowsConsumerFeatures"
- If exist, double-click on it and verify the Values is 1, if not change to 1.
- If not exist, right-click in "Cloud Content" folder
- In the window opens, right-click and type in the name: "DisableWindowsConsumerFeatures" and in Value field define 1
- Click OK
Exit Registry
Note: If not appear "Cloud Content" folder, right-click on "Windows" folder and select New and Key
-In the window opens, type "Cloud Content" and Enter
-In the new folder, "Cloud Conten"t right-click on it
-In the window opens, right-click and type in the name: "DisableWindowsConsumerFeatures"
-In Value define 1 and click OK
Exit Registry
C) Add Rule
- In Search area, type SECP (Local Security Policy)
- In the window opens, click on it
- Search and expand "Application Control Policies"
- Click on "AppLocker"
- On the right-side, down and search "Packaged app Rules"
- Surely is missing, right-click on right-side area and select Create New Rule
- In window opens, click on Next
- Active Deny option on the screen, verify Group file is Everyone and press Next
- Select Use an "Installed Package ...." option and press Select button
- In the window opens, select the "Microsoft Spootlight" and press ok
- Move the left arrow blue to "Package Name" and press Create button
- A new rule as Deny was created and appear in the window
- Close the SECP
Restart and verify if the CEIP still is active.
