"Windows was not properly shut down" Error in the reliability monitor.

When I open the reliability monitor on my computer, I almost always see Critical events with the description "Windows was not properly shut down", with the same date and time than when I shut down my PC. I read elsewhere that it may have something to do with the "Fast Boot" setting, but I don't have it turned on. Why am I getting this error? And how can I fix it?

    Hi Jad,

I'm Independent Advisor not Microsoft employee or support person. I have deep enough Windows knowledge and you may trust me. It's a pleasure for me to help others and I'll do all my best to help you.

Please check system journal (Event Viewer) for possible errors at these moments, especially Kernel-Power errors. DistributedCOM errors should be ignored.

Or save system journal to evtx file and share it to OneDrive for analysis.

Kernel-Power 41 (63) error mostly means the problem with power supplying. Can you replace power supply unit for checking? It may mean problems with power management in BIOS or motherboard too.

And carefully look at motherboard and PSU for leaked or swelled up capacitors (little barrels).

There's "Kernel-Power 41" errors at these times stamps... Sadly I don't have  a spare PSU to check if the errors persist, but my motherboard looks good!

I'm not sure if this correlates to my situation, but my PC has experienced some power outages (before I installed a UPS), could they have damaged my PSU? If so should I replace it, or can I check if there's any physical damage on my own?

Kernel-power 41 errors may be the results of power outage. So please compare outages date and time with errors date and times,

May be there is a sense to buy uninterrupted power supply unit for ~$50-100 to avoid outages.
