Want to allow user to sign in but have list of names hidden

Have seen a bunch of topics, comments, questions close to this question but no answer to my specific question.  Seems like a no brainer to me but no one else seems to want the same thing......  I want the list of users hidden on the Windows 10 login screen, but users should still be able to login in through "Other User" or something.  Don't want to disable the accounts, just don't want users to be able to see what other windows accounts are on the "shared" workstation.

    Hi JimSnodgrass,

Thank you for your update. If you prefer just the Username and Password Box displayed on the login screen instead, you can do the opposite of the steps I provided.

    1. Go to search, type Secpol, open the Local Policy App
    2. Under Security Settings, go to Local Policies and expand it
    3. Click Security Options, Look for Interactive Logon: Don't display last signed-in, make sure this is set to Enabled this time.

This will tell Windows to display a Username and a Password Box so users will be prompted to enter their credentials.

Tell me how it goes. Have a great day!

No this is not what I wanted at all.  I want the list of valid user's on this PC to be absent in the lower left corner, but instead there should be a dialog box where the user must enter their username and password from scratch.  Prefer that the last person who logged in NOT be the default either.  [All I can find is ways to "hide" the list of usernames but this also "disables" those accounts and/or when hidden that there is no dialog box for them to enter a user/pwd].  Another words I want a user to be able to log in if they have a valid username/pwd, but not

"see" who else has an account on the PC.

    Hi JimSnodgrass,

Good day! This is Jhakesong an Independent Advisor and I will be happy to assist you with this.

You mentioned that you want to hide all the other users on the sign in screen. This can be achieved by enabling last user logon on Windows. You may enable it through a group policy edit.

    Here's how to do it.

    1. Go to search, type Secpol, open the Local Policy App
    2. Under Security Settings, go to Local Policies and expand it
    3. Click Security Options, Look for Interactive Logon: Don't display last signed-in, make sure this is set to Disabled.

Hope this helps. Have a great day!
