I have just got an xbox one controller, (it says compatible with xbox one / s / x and windows 10 pc)

i have windows 10 pro 1909 x64 pc with belkin bluetooth adapter, now my pc connects to my  nokia 5.3 android 10 phone, it also connects to my old nokia lumia 635 (win 8.1 phome), it even detects my smart tv, so there's no problem with the adapter

the xbox controller connects to both phones with no problems but the pc however refuses to even "see" the controller

the pc is completely up to date btw

any advice please

    Dear Alabamatick,I understand that you followed the steps in the link and even then the control is not recognized by Windows, in this case I suggest the following solutions:

    Step 1

    Uninstall the USB driver in Device Manager:

    1. Press the Windows + X keys simultaneously;
    2. Click on the Device Manager option;
    3. Click the arrow that points to USB Controllers;
    4. Right-click on the installed device and click uninstall;
    5. Restart the computer.

    Tip: Also remove everything related to Universal Bus and Composite device.

    Step 2

    Install the generic driver:

    1. Press the Windows + X keys simultaneously;
    2. Click on the Device Manager option;
    3. Click the arrow that points to USB Controllers;
    4. Right-click on the installed device and click Properties;
    5. Click the Driver tab> Update Driver> Search Computer for Driver Software;
    6. Click Allow me to choose from a list of device drivers on the Computer;

    Select driver versions, install one by one.

    Tip: After finishing installing each driver, restart the system and test.

    Step 3

    Update Xbox One control.

    This step can be done on another computer, if necessary.

    1.Get the Microsoft Windows 10 app by searching for "Xbox Accessories".

    2.Start the Xbox Accessories app.

    3.Connect the Xbox One Wireless Controller using a USB cable or the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows.

    4.When the controller is connected, you will see the message "Update required" if there is a mandatory update. Install the update.

    I hope this helps.

    See you.

    i already tried the connect by bluetooth steps on that article

    and it doesn't work, the controller is compatible with both bluetooth and wireless 2.4 ghz but doesn't come with either a usb cable or wireless (2'4 ghz dongle) so i can't try that

     but like i said the controller connects to both my phones by bluetooth so should work and both my phones connect to my pc, so my bluetooth connection is fine, but my pc doesn't even see the controller
