Hi JoShannon -
Thanks for the response.
If the printer works with your old windows 10 machine then there is no problem with the driver installed on your old machine. Please try to manually install the printer driver on your computer and check if it will resolve the issue.
Kindly visit the OEM website of your printer and download the latest driver of your printer base on its model. Once driver is downloaded, you need to uninstall all the printer driver installed on your computer to avoid driver conflicts.
First, uninstall the driver using the device manager.
- Open the run box and press the windows key + r and type devmgmt.msc then press enter
- Locate and Expand Printers
- Locate the printer driver installed under the printers driver
- Right click on it and select uninstall
Close the device manager
Next, remove the printer driver remnants on your computer.
- Open the command prompt as administrator on your computer
- Type the below command and press enter
printui /s /t2
- A small pop-up box will appear on your screen containing list of printers installed on your computer
- Select the name of your printer and select remove. On the notification window that will pop-up, select remove driver and driver package
- Wait for the process to complete
Restart the computer
Once computer restarts, install the downloaded printer driver and wait until installation completes. Once completed, make sure that printer service is running properly.
Open the run box again by pressing the windows key + r and type services.msc then press enter
Services window will open, locate Printer Spooler and make sure that it is on running state
Try to use the printer and check if it will print.
Have a Happy Holidays!
Regards,
Kevin B.
