Night light off after screen wakes from sleep

I have the issue that night light is always off when my screen comes back from a (blank) screen saver or the PC wakes from sleep. This has been mentioned several times but the recommended solutions do no address this issue but the issue that night light is not working at all. So to clarify, night light is working, it is just off when the screen comes back from screen saver. If I then check the night light setting, it is enabled and the slider is in the correct position but I need to briefly click on the slider for the feature to actually come on again. This is rather annoying as I often work at night and need to do this several times a day then.

Is there a solution for this? And again, please do not post any links on "how to fix night light not working" because it is working. It is simply off after waking from screen saver.

BTW I am on an HP ZBOOK 15 G2 laptop with NVIDIA Quadro 1100M and Intel HD 4600 (which Windows has stopped with Code 43 - I tried many things including the usual driver roll-back/update/removing hardware and letting it autodetect again etc, but have not been able to resolved it, so I assume that the system uses the NVIDIA card only - on the latest drivers). I run WIN 10 Pro, ver 2004 and am using an external monitor AOC Q3277.

Thank you.

This has nothing to do with graphics driver version so don't waste your time reinstalling them or doing pointless plug in plug out ceremonies. It's a bug in windows with monitor sleep functions, plain and simple. Hopefully the issue is upvoted enough for Microsoft to see it.

I encountered the same issue. I scheduled Night Light mode to switch on and off by time. And the usecase to reproduce the issue is the next:

    1. It is time to switch the Night Light mode on.
    2. The Night Light colors appear.
    3. I turn my laptop off (in any way).
    4. I turn my laptop on.
    5. Here is no Night Light colors, although its button/toggle is on.
    6. I switch button/toggle off

6.1 It is time to switch the mode off by scheduler.

    1. The Night Light colors appear for a moment and immediately disappear.
    2. I switch the Night Light mode on and it works file till I turn my laptop off next time.

I thought I was alone here, I am having the exact same issues with you guys.

Currently using an desktop and experiencing the issues with the night light turning off "but in setting it is toggled ON" when the monitor goes to sleep then wakes up.

Windows 10 Home, Version 2004, OS Build 19041.630

One other interesting characteristic that I noticed that were either missing or removed in the recent Windows 10 update (or as of a year ago or longer) is the monitor no longer "smoothly" fade to black to enter sleep mode. It just goes straight black, then I proceed to wake up the computer. Night mode is toggled ON but visually turned off.

I had to go to setting to toggle the nightmode to "OFF" then the entire screen glitches from the color temperature it was in Night Mode to Off. Then I toggle the nightmode back on to enable the nightmode warm temperature.

    Example:

Wakes Up Computer Monitor > Nightmode Broken - Color Temperature defaults to 6500K > Toggle Nightmode to OFF - Color Temperature Glitches instantly to 4000K and gradually goes to 6500K > Toggle Nightmode to ON - Color Temperature goes from 6500K to 4000K.

I had to do this 50% of the time when I wake up my computer. It usually happen when the monitor turns off and I instantly tries to wake it up.

This tells me Windows 10's setting is somehow not properly restoring nightlight setting when it wakes up from sleep.

This had been an issue with me for over a year, just never bothered to speak up until now.

I was wrong, the issue is still here. It doesn't affect reboot or logout, but sleep only.
