Hello guys,

Today my PC crashed while it was idleing (the second or third time this happend) and the Event Handler said "Event 1001, Bug Check: The computer was restarted due to a critical error. The error code was: 0x000000f7 (0xfffff009a586f0b0, 0x0000c2dc6cf0e7e4, 0xffff3d23930f181b, 0x0000000000000000). A complete image was saved in: C:\Windows\Minidump\122420-18296-01.dmp. Event-ID: 9e9ad7a0-eb56-4a61-bad6-7b68aa62f8ce." I translated it from german since my system language is german. The log can be found here. It is zipped, because Drive didn't like the dmp file.

I found this, so I think it is a problem with a driver, but I could be wrong. Any help appreciated!

Thanks in advance! :D

    This utility makes it easy to see which versions are loaded :

    Run DriverView - set VIEW to Hide Microsoft drivers - update those without

    Dump in their names (and update BIOS and chipset drivers).

    DriverView - Free - utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system. For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver, description, version, product name, company that created the driver, and more.

    http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/driverview.html

    For Drivers check System Maker as fallbacks and Device Maker's which are the most current. Right Click the Start Button - Device Manager - Display Adapter -

    write down the make and complete model of your video adapter - double click

    • Driver's tab - write down the version info. Now click UPdate Driver (this may not

    do anything as MS is far behind certifying drivers) - then Right Click - Uninstall -

    REBOOT this will refresh the driver stack.

    Repeat that for Network - Network Card (NIC), Wifi, Sound, Mouse, and Keyboard

    if 3rd party with their own software and drivers and any other major device drivers

    you have.

    Now go to System Maker's site (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (as rollback) and

    then Device Maker's site (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI as examples) and get their latest versions. (Look for BIOS, Chipset, and software updates at System Maker's

    site while there.)

    Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - Right Click - RUN AD ADMIN -

    REBOOT after each installation.

    Always check in Device Manager - Drivers tab to be sure the version you are installing actually shows up. This is because some drivers rollback before the

    latest is installed (sound drivers particularly do this) so install a driver - reboot

    • check to be sure it is installed and repeat as needed.

    Repeat at Device Makers - BTW at Device Makers DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER

    • check manually by model.

    Manually look at manufacturer's sites for drivers - and Device Maker's sites.

    Memory tests do not catch all errors such as mismatched memory (possible even for sticks that appear to be identical) and when faster memory is placed in the system behind slower memory. So it is best to also swap sticks in and out to check for those even if all memory tests fail to show a problem.

    To test RAM check here - let it run 4+ hours or so - over-night is best. <-- best method

    Please use ALL the methods I outlined as they form a checklist and not a menu.

    BugCheck 3B, {c0000005, ffffc69e1e9f193a, ffff9e81b30c2d30, 0}

    Probably caused by : win32kfull.sys ( win32kfull!IsWindowHolographicForHitTest+1a )

    win32kfull.sys is a Windows component which means something else drove it into Fault.

    Further detailed analysis indicated:

    fffff80321fd0000 fffff80321fd8000 amifldrv64.sys <-- MSI Afterburner

    fffff8031f9e0000 fffff8031ff64000 vgk.sys <-- Valorant anti-cheat

    You need to get the computer to a point of being stable and then proceed with your OC. Use ALL the methods in my previous reply.

    Okay, so I just tried one of the things you mentioned above and I have to wait and see if it worked.

    But I just got another crash with an diffrent crashcode (0x0000003b (0x00000000c0000005, 0xffffc69e1e9f193a, 0xffff9e81b30c2d30, 0x0000000000000000)). I'll add the dmp file here. The fault file seemed to be win32kfull.sys...

    Edit: I just saw the system restarted about 4 times on his own while I was away. The event log says that the drives 2-5 all had the same ID...

    When I came to my PC he was in a state were he wasn't using the harddrives at all and both my monitors had no signal...

    BugCheck F7, {fffff009a586f0b0, c2dc6cf0e7e4, ffff3d23930f181b, 0}

    Probably caused by : ntkrnlmp.exe ( nt!_report_gsfailure+25 )

    ntkrnlmp.exe is a Windows component which means something else drove it into Fault.

    Further detailed analysis indicated:

    fffff80479b00000 fffff80479b08000 amifldrv64.sys <-- MSI DPC Latency Tuner

    1. Fully uninstall MSI Afterburner and other overclocking software. Many of those make changes that are in effect at installation even if you never run them. Others do not actually reset all back to before you ran them. After uninstalls then all back the makers' defaults and reset the BIOS. Get the machine stable and work from there.
    2. This motherboard and other major devices are likely still under warranty so best to check with MSI and the other device makers' supports for diagnostic help and possible RMA'.

    BiosVersion = H.A0

    BiosReleaseDate = 12/15/2020 <-- current BIOS

    BaseBoardManufacturer = Micro-Star International Co., Ltd.

    BaseBoardProduct = X470 GAMING PLUS MAX (MS-7B79)

    BaseBoardVersion = 3.0

    1. Carefully review A. - F. below.

    4A. Update the BIOS, chipset drivers, and all the major onboard and separate device drivers. Use the DriverVIew method outlined in my previous reply.

    1. It is possible the issue is the SSD/hard drive. If an SSD check for known issues with its maker's support. Possibly heat-related - add a heat sink and/or better cooling. If an SSD or Hybrid driver ensure you have the latest firmware from its maker's site.
    2. You are running vgk.sys - Valorant anti-cheat which has been known to cause issues. Since it loads at startup it can conflict with other games' anti-cheats when you run them.
    3. Use ALL the methods below and those in my previous reply above.

    ====================================================

    A. Are you overclocking anything? If so STOP! OC can not only cause BSOD it can make troubleshooting virtually impossible.

    B. Have you installed any performance or OC software such as MSI Afterburner? Those change system settings during installation which are still in effect even when the program is not running. Even iCUE or other RGB hardware and/or software may be involved.

    C. After both A. & B. reset the BIOS back to the system/motherboard maker's recommendations.

    D. Be sure the SSD's have the latest firmware from their makers.

    E. Try removing and reseating all cards, memory, and cables (both ends when possible) - actually remove and replace - do not just snug (on a PC) and clean out the dust bunnies and vents. (Of course remove ALL power prior to opening the case.) <-- Please do this as it is the number one cause of the issues you are experiencing (by far).

    F. Try adding a fan blowing on high onto the motherboard's CPU & GPU areas. The point is to increase airflow to maximize heat dissipation. <-- Please do this no matter how much cooling you have now.

    Hello Rob,

    Okay, so... That is a lot of potential problems... :D

    And I have never seen an empty zip before, but here is an zip that is 100% NOT empty. Hopefully... Anyways, I hope you can find the troublemaker in that thing so I can try an accurate error fixing instead of doing everything.

    Thanks in advance!
