Windows wants to update Intel Graphics driver to a version which is already installed

Hi,

I'm using a Lenovo Ideapad C340-14IWL running Windows 10 home version 20H2, build version 19042.662.

For some reason, windows keeps wanting to update the Intel Graphics driver to version 26.20.100.7323.

This is not the latest Intel Integrated Graphics driver, which is version 27.20.100.8935.

Of course, when I install the latest version from the Intel Driver website, I get an error:

"A current driver on your PC may be better than the driver we're trying to install. We'll keep trying to install"

But, when I install the exact same version as Windows update manager wants to install, I get the same error message.

Question: How can I stop this message from popping up?

Ideally with the latest Intel Graphics driver installed. I already tried installing the version windows wants to install with device manager. I tried disabling windows from updating any kind of drivers, but both don't work.

Hi arum

I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this . . .

Download the tool from the link below, run that, in the list of pending updates, select that update and click 'Hide' that will stop windows from attempting to install it:

    Hi DaveM121,

I've tried it on the currently installed Intel Graphics driver version  26.20.100.7323, and it worked! No more error when trying to update.

I am now going to update to the newest Intel Graphics driver and see if the error still doesn't show up. I'll post an update here shortly.

    Thanks a lot!

    Cheers.
