What is windows live calendar service on windows 10? I don't understand how it relates and why i get error messages.

what is windows live calendar service on windows 10? I get error messages that cause emails not to send or receive sometimes. This never used to happen. Can i disable this function?

However I see you marked my post unhelpful which hurts my standing here for trying my best to help you and standing by to help you further. Did you still want my help?     I'm confused. Have you read my lengthy reply where i asked you about two or three "free" email apps i could install? But you are wanting me to try this other "fix" first?  I am wondering if you think the only solution or the one that will help the most is necessarily a Microsoft product? Thanks again, Les

    Sorry about that. I didnt know how to respond considering i havent looked into every suggestion you made. Thats all. I was thrown off by having to use the Microsoft account and i guess I replied in the wrong location. I have not yet read your latest response as i have some other commitments. Ill look this evening. Sorry again for the rating. I assumed i'd get to do that later after some conclusion had been reached. Thanks, Les

    Greg, i sent a lengthy reply to you. But I received a delivery error. It didnt go through. Im not sure how to proceed. I think it wanted me to use my Microsoft account mail system. I never use it and am kind of lost at the moment.

    Hi Leslie. I'm Greg, an eleven years awarded MVP, Volunteer Moderator, and Independent Advisor here to help you until this is resolved.

    Check in Settings > Apps > Apps & Features that you have no Windows Live features installed, and if so uninstall them.  The WIndows Live Calendar was part of WIndows Live Mail, which has been discontinued for 5 years, and is actively being shut down, with warnings for several years that features would be shut off soon: https://www.computerworld.com/article/3067121/e...

    If you are still using Windows Live Mail I would migrate now to WIndows 10 Mail which is comparable except that it doesn't store any mail but is only a sync service for your web and Office Mail boxes.     If you are using Windows 10 Mail already and the error refers to Windows 10 Calendar, you can repair it in Settings > Apps > Apps & Features > Mail & Calendar app > Advanced Settings > Repair and Reset. 

    If that is not enough then re-register the app from Option 2 here:  http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/3175-apps-re-register-windows-8-10-a.html

    And if that fails uninstall the app in the same place, restart PC and reinstall from MS Store Hub (three dots at top right of Store app) > My Library.  You may have to add back Mail accounts in the Settings, but this is routine and nothing is lost since its only a sync service to begin with.
