I am trying to reset my pc with the use of a windows installation media in usb. And i realized that i would need to delete all the existing partitions in order to proceed as seen in the picture. Am i right to say that if i do so all the data in my pc will be removed?

If so, i would like to ask if there is another way to do clean install without losing the data?

Thank you.

You can try to reset your PC.

Go to Settings/Update/Recovery and run Reset this PC. That may fix your problems and allow to keep data.

There should be two option: Reset using local OS files and cloud reset.

That latest download OS files from Microsoft.

As already advised take care of backup! I recommend to take it before attempting yo reset just in case.

Hi TienWaiNg,

Good day! This is Jhakesong an Independent Advisor and I will be happy to assist you with this.

Yes you are correct, if you delete all the partitions, the data in it will be erased. Unfortunately, there is no way to preserve your data if you wish to do a Clean Install.

When you did a Reset on your PC, weren't you given a choice to keep your files? If you want to keep your files, try to go back through the reset process and choose keep files.

You may also do a repair upgrade and this will allow you to keep your files. Repair upgrade will install windows into an existing windows installation without deleting your files. Here's a walkthrough:

What you say is incorrect. The installation process will erase the selected target partition but it will leave the other partitions as they are. This is why it pays to separate system folders and data folders. System folders on C:, data folders on D:.

Regardless of the above you MUST back up your data before you start the reset process.
