Dear Microsoft Community

I believe I have downloaded, via a Windows Update, a corrupted dll file.  The corrupted file is causing me a lot of problems; for example, I am not able to upload a picture to this question.

The error Panel in question says the following:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\iigd_dch.inf_amd64_e55d412ecdc59b8A\jgd9xva64.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.  Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.

Panel Title: HpHwDiag.exe Bad Image

Error Status: 0x000007b

Windows System Event Viewer gives this entrys:

08/12/2020 14:13:54 Ntfs

Event ID: 7 Task Cat: None

Ntfs has detected MFT torn write on a volume.

           Volume correlation Id: {49e29c8e-5ed2-472c-bbc0-3e8a86b539fa}

           Volume name: C:

           Volume label: Windows

           File reference: 0x4C15

           File name: \Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\mx510p6.inf_amd64_f44884ed3ee6cb36

Byte offset of the buffer within the file: 0

Byte offset of the torn structure within the buffer: 24576

           Block index: 0

           Expected sequence number: 11

           Actual sequence number: 461

Any ideas gratefully received

Thank you

Julian

    Hi! Julian

I'm James, an Independent Advisor, and I will help you with this issue

Fix the Windows corruption errors with DISM & SFC tools.

This will help you to repair the Windows 10 system files and check for any issues, follow these steps below:

    1. Open the Start menu, in the Search box type cmd or command prompt.
    2. Right-click on the command prompt and select Run as Administrator.
    3. When you Open it type the following command & press Enter:

    Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth

Be patient until DISM repairs component store. When the operation is completed, (you should be informed that the component store corruption was repaired), give this command and press Enter:

    sfc /scannow

    1. When SFC scan is completed, restart your computer.
    2. Check if the problem persists.

If you need more help with this issue, just let me know and I will help you.

    Hi James

I didn't like the idea of a reinstall of Windows 10, so I looked for the corrupted file which was an Intel graphics file (I believe via a Windows update!).  I installed a replacement file from the Intel website.  I reused SFC and DISM, and by uninstalling and reinstalling affected applications, I arrived at a stable Windows 10.  Many thanks for your help.

    Regards

    Julian

    http://microsoft.com/software-download/windows10

    1. Found the MediaCreationTool.exe and double-click it
    2. Select Create installation media for another PC.
    3. Select ISO file and click Next.
    4. Click Finish.
    5. Open the Windows ISO file you downloaded.
    6. Open Setup.
    7. Click Next.
    8. Click Accept, this next part may take a while.
    9. Click Install. Again, this will take a moment while your system restarts.

Note: You can choose to keep your files if you want.

    1. Wait for your system to restart and install Windows 10.
    2. When it finishes, check if the issue persist.
