Is there a way to turn off "tap to click" on the touchpad under Windows 10?

Both my work and home laptops are virtually impossible to type on because the tap to click feature causes the cursor to jump all over the screen while I'm typing.  Why is there no longer an option to turn off that ridiculous feature?  Everyone I know has an issue with this, yet the responses on the community make it seem like the people at Microsoft have never used their own product.  Is there a way to turn this off?

Both responses indicate the same approach, going to Touchpad Settings and then selecting Additional Settings.  But when I do that, I don't get the screen that the tutorials indicate, I have no option to disable tap to click or the settings around gestures.  When I click Additional Settings I just get the Mouse Properties dialogue box, which doesn't have any options for modifying the Touchpad settings.  Clickpad Settings is not a tab or button in my dialogue box.   I do have a Hardware Tab, which shows the Synaptics Touchpad as the installed device, but when I highlight that and click Properties, then Change Settings, it takes me to a dialogue window like the Mouse Properties dialogue that has no options for changing the settings.

I'd love to give you a screen shot, but the print screen function no longer works on my laptop after a recent Windows 10 upgrade.

I finally found the answer to this question I raised....wanted to post the answer in case it helps anyone else.  Using all of the methods described to change the settings through the control panel or the device settings in Windows doesn't work, as I described in my earlier posts.  However, I found that if I use the search box in the bottom left of the tool bar, and search for Touchpad, it actually brought up an app called Synaptics Touchpad that wasn't visible anywhere else (wasn't in the software list).  Opening that app gave me an option for settings, and when I opened that it gave me a dialogue box with some gesture settings, including one that said "Tapping".  Unchecking that Tapping setting did the trick.  There didn't seem to be any other way to get to that settings option by going through the Windows choices, I needed to open that particular app.

    Hope others find this useful.

I wanted to add I've been going through the exact same issue for more than 18 months (on a similar HP-15 model). There is simply no option to turn off tap-to-click anywhere. It's driven me insane and I've spent 100+ hours trying to fix it, which included installing every single driver available on HP and Synaptics. I finally found a very old one that barely worked (tap to click was the only feature it could change). Unfortunately with a recent update it resets every time the laptop sleeps/shuts down and also removed the RegEdit option to stop it resetting (the option to just turn off tap to click disappeared ages ago).

I spend my life typing and have a disability which means I can't keep the bases of my palms elevated constantly and the frustration this issue is the single biggest problem in my professional life. It's no exaggeration, it is incredibly frustrating for the cursor to be clicked accidentally every ten seconds, shifting the point of typing. Please, please, please give us a way to turn tap to click off.

Thank you for the alternative options to do a screen print.  I was able to combine a couple of them to get the pictures here.  This is what I see when selecting Touchpad Settings and then Additional Settings:

This is what I see when I select the Hardware Tab and then Properties:

There does not seem to be an option to change the Touchpad settings, only disable it completely.

To answer Ludwig's question, the laptop is an HP, about 2 years old, although I don't see a model number on it.  In the system section of the Control Panel it says it's an HP Laptop 15-bs0xx.  Closest I can come to a model number or name.  Windows version is Windows 10 Home, installed in August 2020 as part of an upgrade (recent upgrade just processed), Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.242.551.0.

Thanks for your help on this.
