Constant freezes of my internet connection

Hello,

I am writing here because, honestly, I have no idea where to start when it comes to the problem I've been having for quite some time. I'll try to describe my issues as best as possible, so hopefully someone can guide me to the right direction of finding the source of my problem.

The problem I'm having is freezes of my browser and my internet connection every once in a while. I'll be browsing something on the internet or watching a YouTube, Twitch video/stream and every tab gets frozen for a few seconds - videos stop playing and/or start buffering, websites don't load or respond to any of my clicks. After a few seconds everything goes back to normal. On top of that, when I'm playing an online game (usually Escape From Tarkov), my game just randomly disconnects with the message (server connection lost) and I have to reconnect. It happens maybe once or twice a day but as a general rule, it has to happen at the worst time. Now, I have a suspicion it might be my software or hardware, rather than the internet connection because I did call my ISP and ask them if it's on their end and they said no. They also asked me if I regularly restart my router every two weeks (which I don't, but when I restarted it, the same problem was back a couple days later, so I can't say restarting my router helped or changed anything). Another reason I don't think it's my ISP is because sometimes, when this freeze happens, my wife is playing something or browsing on her PC at the same time and she doesn't have the same issue. So, where should I start looking for a possible problem? What might be causing this issue?

I'm using Chrome as my browser and I could try cleaning my cache, but I'm pretty sure I have these freezes in my games even with my Chrome browser off. So I'm not sure if it could be the source of these problems.

Thank you to anyone who responds.

    Hi SscorpionN__,

Good day! This is Jhakesong an Independent Advisor and I will be happy to assist you with this.

I am sorry to hear about the inconvenience. We can start refreshing you network adapter drivers from device manager to start troubleshooting the issue:

    1. Press Windows key + X
    2. Open Device Manager
    3. Expand Network Adapters
    4. Right click Wireless if you are connected via WIFI and choose uninstall, Uninstall Ethernet if you are connected wired to the router.
    5. Once uninstalled, restart your computer for windows to reinstall the drivers.
    6. Run a ping test once your computer is back on.

How to run a ping test:

    1. Press windows key + S
    2. type cmd, run cmd as administrator
    3. enter this command: ping www.google.com -t
    4. You should have all replies and no timeouts
    5. You can stop the ping test by pressing CTRL + C
    6. Type Exit to close command prompt.

This could be caused by a software conflict, run your computer in clean boot. Here's how:

Let me know how it goes. Have a great day!

Well, I can't be 100 percent sure, but I think it's better now. I still get very quick automatic refreshes of some Twitch streams once a day maybe but they're really small in comparison to what I used to have - they are almost instant and can't say they make any other browser tabs to freeze. Still need to see if my game freezes as much as it used to or not though.

So, what I did is I tried disabling a couple different apps at a time and would change them every time I'd encounter an obvious freeze and after disabling these two, I think it's been running pretty smooth for a couple days now:

Although, the second one still says Running. Guess it's the xTendSoftAPService causing issues, and from what I understand, it's linked to the network software. Wonder how needed it is though.

    Hi SscorpionN__,

Thanks for reaching back. You can still run those programs when you launch them. They will just not start right away automatically when windows boots up. That's a good way to isolate if the problem is with any of those programs are causing your current issue.

    Hi JhakeSong,

    Thank you for your reply.

I did all the steps that you provided except the very last one (about running my PC in clean boot). So, if I daily use a bunch of programs, play games, should I try running clean boot for a few days to see if the problem still persists? Will I be able to run all my programs and games or will I have some trouble with some of them?
