SLUI 4 doesn't work

I recently built a new desktop and installed windows 10 from a USB using the msft media installation tool. I purhcased on OEM activation key for Windows 10 Pro from Kinguin. Who I bought it from looks to be a reliable seller based on customer feedback. It seems like everyone uses the phone chat to activate their key. However, when I run SLUI 4, it doesn't bring me to a page showing me my installation ID #. Is this because the Windows 10 I'm running right now isn't activated?

    Hi,

Just so you know.. That SLUI does not work on my machine either.. Absolutely nothing happens..

    I tried SLUI 4, SLUI 04, and SLUI.exe 4.... and nothing...

Have you tried entering your key in the Activation button of Windows Update.. After it rejects your key the next options should pop up..

I have had to activate by phone a number of times and have never used the slui 4 command to do so..

It is possible that it may have been disabled on newer Windows 10 builds..

Thank you for the quick response!

I have tried this and I get the error 0xc004f050. Based on others who bought product keys from this vendor it sounds like this might be an expected problem and that I need to use the automated phone chat for activation. To do this I am supposed to run SLUI 4 to find my installation ID and the phone chat will provide me with a confirmation ID which I can type into my PC. However, when I run SLUI 4 nothing comes up.

    Thanks for the information Tanner.

Look honestly this is not the conduct of an authorized reseller of microsoft products.

This error that I return is a key error that is not valid, because when you purchase an original product, just perform the activation through the procedure sent and your key will work perfectly.

The recommended procedure for those who purchase from this dealer is not required.

I strongly recommend if possible that you try to make the return and purchase a valid key for your Windows through the Microsoft store, for sure this will not cause problems for you.

Either way try to run the activation option below.

    Try activation through the Command Prompt;

    1. Press the Windows + X keys simultaneously and click Command Prompt (Admin).
    2. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, enter the password or provide confirmation.
    3. At the command prompt, type the following command and press Enter:

    slmgr.vbs -ipk xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx

Note: In this command, the placeholder xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx represents the product key, in place of the XXXXX place the Windows 10 activation key.

    1. After the key confirmation window, type the command below to perform the activation and press Enter:

    slmgr.vbs /ato

Restart the computer and verify that it is enabled.

    I await news.

It may be that there is a failure in the installation.

Try running the command as "slui 04" to see if it works.

    I await news.

I understand that you would like to activate your Windows.

In this case you just need to use your Windows key in the procedure below to perform the activation.

During installation, you will be asked to enter a product key. Or, after installation, to enter the product key, select the Start button and select Settings > Update and security > Activation > Update the product key > Change the product key.
