The component store is repairable

Hello, my computer has been going slow and crashing since the last update, and I've tried various methods to fix it (repairing with media creation tool/windows 10 update assistant, troubleshoot, sfc /scannow, dism ,chkdsk) but none seem to work.

ScanHealth and CheckHealth both say that the device is repairable but I don't know what else to do.

Maybe someone can figure it out? Here are the dism and CBS logs.

Hello, I’m Virginia an independent advisor with 20 years of expertise in fixing my own & friends’ PC problems.

    Which Windows 10 build are you running - 1903, 1909, 2004 or 20H2 (Oct 2020)?

Right click on start & choose powershell with admin & enter:

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

    Then restart the PC.

    These will fix the problem.

If by some chance they don’t:

I recommend an in-place upgrade repair.

To repair Windows without losing any data then follow the instruction here:

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/16397-repai...

This will also upgrade you to the latest version of Windows - currently 20H2 - if you’re not already running this..

In a nutshell you just download the media creation tool, run this & choose to upgrade now or if you are creating media on another PC you download the tool, run it & choose to create media for another PC, then insert the Windows 10 media (USB/DVD) in the problem PC & run setup from within Windows.

Please note a repair install is not a reset, this is a last attempt at repairing a PC without a clean install. If this fails to repair the problem then usually a clean install is required.

My current version of windows is 1909.

I've tried using the /StartComponentCleanup command but it arrives at 20% and then says that the operation has been completed successfully, and /RestoreHealth gives me the error: 0x800f081f (The source files could not be found).

I've already tried the in-place upgrade repair but it gives me the error 0x8007001F - 0x20006 (the installation failed in the safe_os phase with an error during replicate oc operation).

Did you receive the Education version from your School/University or did you just install it?

Run this cmd within powershell with admin powershell “(Get-WmiObject -query ‘select * from SoftwareLicensingService’).OA3xOriginalProductKey”

Or wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey if using cmd prompt.

Or: Check this program to reveal if there’s a key embedded in the BIOS:

    https://neosmart.net/OemKey/

Or: Download and run this: https://www.microsoft.com/p/showkeyplus/9pkvzcp... to find all keys used on the PC.

If it doesn’t show any key then don’t worry as this is normal if the PC came with Windows 10.

If it shows a key then please let me know - do not post the key.

Also run this to see what is currently installed & post the screenshot:

Right click on start & choose powershell with admin & enter: slmgr.vbs /dlv

This will show a popup showing whether your license is OEM, Retail, or Volume amongst other information.

I'm sadly getting the same 0x800f081f error.

I am currently using Windows 10 Education with my OS build being 18363.1316 (if it can be of any help).

You may need the Windows installation media to repair Windows with the restorehealth cmd:

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/7808-use-di...

    Step 7.

Please do not download any repair tool which may be offered by this site other than the ones I mention/recommend.

Thoroughly research any product which is mentioned here before you decide to download and install it.
