Help with installing games to D drive instead of C.

Yesterday I purchased the Xbox Game pass ultimate for PC. I only have the option to install games onto my C drive, but there's not enough space on it. Whenever I try to install games on my D drive it states, "This location isn't set up for installing games. Set it as your location for where new apps are saved." I clicked the underlined message and it brings me to settings. There is an option highlighted stating, "New apps will save to: New Volume (D:)." Since this is what I want I click it and press apply but I get hit by an extremely confusing message which is, "Delete other apps? This drive has apps from another device. To use this drive, the other apps must first be deleted. Do you want to continue?" This is confusing me a lot as I am very hesitant to press yes as I don't exactly know what this means. What will be deleted if I select yes? Games? Microsoft games? My entire D Drive? If someone could please let me know what to select and what it will do exactly please help. I don't want to risk losing anything from that drive has it has a lot of information. Thank you.

    Hi,

my name is Mouad, an independent advisor, and I'm glad to be able to help.

you can change default storage location for apps and games, here is the process:

    1 - press both keys Windows + R and type "copy/past" : ms-settings:savelocations

    2 - click Ok.

3 - on the drop down for the option "New Apps will save to" select the D: disk letter and click apply.

also you may be need to move applications to the same drive D:, if so here is the process:

    1 - press both keys Windows + R and type "copy/past" : ms-settings:appsfeatures

2 - in the list of apps select the application you want and click on the move button.

    Hope it helps!

    Best Regards,

    Mouad.

Actually? So I can't just simply install a game on my drive dedicated to owning games? I have to literally unistall hundreds of gigabites worth of games just to download one? This confuses me. On any other software for games such as Origin and Steam I have the simple option of installing games onto whatever drive I want but for the microsoft store i must unistall dozens of games.  Let me know if this is how it works. Thanks

if the disk D: is not empty and contains any file or directory they will be removed, the reason why Windows shows the warning message, otherwise if the disk is empty you can just confirm it wont affect your existing applications, it will just concern newly installed games.

Thank you, but this still doesn't solve my main question. When I press apply after changing the install location there is a pop up stating. "Delete other apps? This drive has apps from another device. To use this drive, the other apps must first be deleted. Do you want to continue?" This is confusing me a lot as I am very hesitant to press yes as I don't exactly know what this means. What will be deleted if I select yes? Games? Microsoft games? My entire D Drive?
