Can someone explain how to get this to show up when I connect it so I can watch dvds? Very simple terms please, I'm old and not techy! I have watched before, but can't figure it out today! Thanks!!

What does being old have to do with it? All it means is that you know a whole lot more than a younger person. 😉

Once you've got an external DVD player, plug it into any USB port on the body of the computer. That takes care of the hardware.

Next, you'll need to download and install software that can play DVDs, since Windows 10 doesn't do this on its own. Fortunately, there's lots of good software for that. Here's one very popular program that you can try - and it's free: VLC Media Player.

Once the software is installed, restart your computer and you're good to go.

(Try to explain to a young person how to fix a toaster. "You means there's no app for that?")

    Hi LoriLitton,

You just need to plug your external DVD player, open it, and insert your DVD disc, on the computer, open Windows Media Player (if you don't have a shortcut, you can type on the star menu to find it) and in the left menu you select the DVD disc you just inserted.
