Hello tdehan, how are you?
I am an independent consultant and user like you!
I'm happy to help you!
edbres0001.jrs and edbres0002.jrs are backup files for the transaction log, which allows the directory to process transactions if the server runs out of disk space!
If you still have another problem, I hope your answer!

So, I've deleted edbres0001.jrs and edbres0002.jrs and they keep coming back! What are they used for on Windows 10 and how do I get rid of them as they are completely bringing my computer to a halt when I am doing a disk scan.
Yes you can!
For curiosity:
These files originate from Windows Server, since version 2008 has the nomenclature "edbres" and the extension ".jrs". In earlier versions, "res1.log" and "res2.log" are used.
Come back here if you need help! ;)

I should probably have specified this file is on Windows 10. My computer is definitely not running out of disk space as I have a 2TB C:\ drive with 1.8TB remaining. A 6TB D:\ drive with 3/TB remaining and a 6TB E:\drive also with 3TB remaining.
Is it ok to delete the file?
